At AEKYN, in collaboration with PYRATEX® we have combined the most powerful, innovative, bio-sourced, ethical and eco-responsible fibers to obtain a unique result:
The Symbiotic Fiber™. Composed of: SeaCell™, Tencel™ and Roica™V550 woven in an interlock structure, with a heavy weight and the preservation of the natural shade of the fiber, only treated without toxic products, thus eliminating the potentially toxic and polluting energy-consuming dyeing process, in order to have our light color.
The Power of the Oceans:
SeaCell™: SeaCell™ is a revolutionary fiber composed of wood pulp fibers enriched with seaweed powder.
This unique combination provides remarkable benefits for the skin thanks to vitamins and minerals released upon contact with natural moisture, promoting cellular regeneration and soothing irritation.
These algae are sustainably harvested from the fjords of Iceland, only every four years, taking only the upper parts of the plants, which allows them to regenerate naturally without disturbing the ecosystem.
The transformation process uses a non-toxic and 99% recycled solvent, thus minimizing the environmental impact and guaranteeing a high-quality fiber produced in Europe.
The robustness and vitality of the Forests:
TENCEL™: TENCEL™, also known as Lyocell, is made from wood pulp from trees such as eucalyptus, beech, oak, bamboo and birch, all from FSC and PEFC certified forests.
Our TENCEL™ fibers are sourced from European trees, ensuring increased traceability and sustainability.
The manufacturing process uses a non-toxic and non-polluting solvent called NMMO (N-methylmorpholine N-oxide), which can be 99% recycled, significantly reducing the environmental impact.
TENCEL™ production is also very water efficient thanks to its closed-loop system, which recycles and reuses almost all the water used in the process, significantly reducing water consumption compared to cotton.
The wood pulp used for TENCEL™ is sustainably harvested, removing only the pulp needed without uprooting the trees, thus ensuring the natural regeneration of forests.
The pinnacle of human, ethical and eco-responsible technology:
ROICA™V550: ROICA™ V550 is an innovative and sustainable elastic fiber, combined with a fruit polymer, which makes it degradable, it is the best alternative to conventional elastane.
This pioneering fiber is designed to decompose into CO2 and water after use, in accordance with ISO 14855-1 tests. ROICA™ V550 is the first elastane to receive Cradle to Cradle™ Gold certification for material health, attesting to its low environmental impact.
It is also certified by Hohenstein for its environmental compatibility, proving that it can degrade without releasing toxic substances into the environment.
